Cagliari is the most important city of Sardinia, with a metropolitan area of about half a million inhabitants. The capital of the island has a soul consisting of a millenary history, culture, nature, beach tourism and night life, an attractive mix that fascinates the visitor, charmed by the views of Castello, the ramparts and the Roman remains, the Sardinian sea, as well as by the dynamism of a surprisingly lively city.
This social event will include a panoramic tour of the city, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the highlights of this beautiful island, such as:
Poetto beach, a vast and stunning city beach, with eight kilometres of coastline extending between Cagliari and Quartu Sant’Elena comprised of soft sand and blue sea.
The Molentargius–Saline, which extends across 1,600 hectares in the extreme southern part of the Campidano plain, overlooking the Golfo degli Angeli (Gulf of the Angels) and bordered by Cagliari urbanisation of Quartu Sant’Elena, Quartucciu and Selargius, and by the seafront of the beautiful Poetto. Its uniqueness can be perceived even from the peaks of Monte Urpinu.
Monte Urpinu, the largest (and highest) park of the city, 350 square metres spread on the hill that bears the same name. It’s an excellent spot for resting your hurting feet, picnics with friends and family and sport activities. In the top list of most popular meeting points for locals.
Also, we will have a walk to the historic quarter of Castello (Castle). Located in the highest part of the city, it is also the oldest part. The narrow streets are an invitation for a walking tour, discovering streets and alleys. Several important historical buildings are located in this neighborhood. Castello is one of the historic districts of the city of Cagliari, and one of the most evocative. Because of his position it offers unique views. All the quarter is characterized by the grandeur of the Bastions, the towers built to defend and control the land from the enemies by the Aragonese.
The tour will end with a dinner at Hotel Ristorante Flora. After the dinner we will return to the hotels by foot.
